1. Company Details
StatementCheck (operating at statementcheck.app) is a software service providing automated document parsing and transaction extraction for UK mortgage advisers and brokers. StatementCheck acts purely as a Data Processor and administrative tool. By accessing or using StatementCheck, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service in full.
2. Purpose & Scope
StatementCheck provides automated document parsing and administrative transaction extraction for financial documents, including but not limited to UK bank statements. The service categorises transactions, generates affordability summaries, and flags potential areas of interest for review by a qualified mortgage adviser. The tool is designed to assist — not replace — the professional judgment of a regulated adviser. The user or adviser holds ultimate regulatory responsibility under FCA MCOB rules for verifying all parsed statement data before making any lender submissions.
3. FCA MCOB Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
StatementCheck is an administrative data processing tool and does NOT provide regulated mortgage or financial advice. The service is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and does not conduct regulated activities as defined under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001. StatementCheck acts solely as a Data Processor.
The CeMAP-qualified mortgage adviser, broker, or user retains 100% regulatory responsibility under FCA rules for:
- Validating transaction accuracy and completeness
- Verifying affordability assessments independently
- Making lending submissions to lenders
- Ensuring compliance with MCOB (Mortgage Conduct of Business) rules
- Determining the suitability of any mortgage recommendation
StatementCheck shall not be liable for any underwriting decisions, mortgage declines, or financial losses resulting from the use of extracted data. The user acknowledges that all output generated by the service is administrative in nature and must be independently verified before being relied upon in any regulated advice process.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use StatementCheck only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the service to process documents that you do not have the right or authority to analyse, or to facilitate any fraudulent or unlawful activity. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have obtained the necessary consents from your clients before uploading their financial documents.
